The Pacific Northwest doesn't lose it splendor as winter rolls in. If anything, the addition of snow adds a magical touch to an already enchanting place. We recently headed to Wallace falls to explore the winter wonderland for ourselves. With over 12 miles of hiking trails, Wallace Falls State Park is already an amazing destination, but with a powdering of snow, the views are spectacular. So bundle up, make some cocoa and head out into the forest. #wintertime #winterwonderland #nature #winter #winterscoming #winterishere #snow #woods #fantastic #forest #scenery #beautiful #amazing #gorgeous #instawinter #instasnow #holidayseason #cold #holidays #seasons #instagood #photooftheday #snowing #staywarm #seattlebucketlist #hiking #outdoors #follow #waterfall

While the U-district's Palmi Korean BBQ is a great place to stop if you have the time to show off your grilling skills on the built-in grills, they have solid meal options for those in a bit of a hurry as well. With soup, stew, short ribs and various noodle dishes vying for your attention, the stand out for us is definitely the BiBimBop in a hot stone pot. Consisting of your choice of protein (or tofu) and veggies covering a healthy portion of rice with an egg cracked on top (or not) all served in a stone pot that has been heated so as to cook anything it comes in contact with it. Just before eating, mix the egg with everything and allow it to cook in the stone pot. More and more, Seattle is offering up vegan and vegetarian dining options. From burgers to thai and even sushi, resturaunts are expanding their menus to cater to the new demand. And while established eateries are adding options, there are many that specialize in plant based goodness. Next Level Burgers is serving up American favorites with a vegan twist. Boasting a 100% plant based menu, Next Level's burgers, hot dogs, fries and shakes are incredible. And our favorite, the fries with style, are a full meal in one dish. Fries covered in chili, bacon, cheese and even an entire vegan patty, these fries are a meal on their own. #seattle #travel #instafood #yum #delicious #eat #dinner #food #stuffed #hot #lunch #love #sharefood #delicious #eating #foodpic #foodpics #hungry #instafood #amazing #instagood #fresh #seattlebucketlist #follow #seattlecenter #frenchfries #discover #vegan #vegetarian #meatless

Along the shore of Lake Washington, sits a monument to the power of music. Roaring out of Aberdeen in the late 80's, Nirvana took the world by storm. But, sadly, the axiom "the brightest star burns out quickest" seems to have held true when lead singer, Kurt Cobain, passed away in 1994. Yards from his then home, fans gathered in Viretta Park and began leaving messages to him. The practice has continued to this day on the "Nirvana bench". The bench sits in the center of the lower park, covered in nearly 25 years of messages of mourning, hope, love and influence. There is no parking available, making the moment more personal by not having as many interruptions. #travel #music #park #artistic #guitar #punk #song #musician #recording #band #rockstar #musicvideo #songs #musical #group #bands #rocknroll #rockband #singer #hardrock #guitarist #nirvana #seattle #outdoor #seattlebucketlist #grunge #rockstars #outdoor #park

Of the many reasons we love our local small businesses is creativity. While most might think this stays in the realm of shopping, we find just as much imagination while eating out. Full Tilt Ice Cream often surprises us with new flavors, but one of their current offerings bows us away: Black Moon Galaxy (pictured in an amazing ice cream sandwich). Starting with their Blue Moon ice cream as the base, Black moon Galaxy mixes in activated charcoal, chunks of Fruit Loops and edible gold glitter to top it off. The flavor is out of this world (could't resist). Along the southern edge of Downtown, rises a Seattle icon. The Smith Tower, built in 1914, was once the tallest building West of the Mississippi River and the fourth tallest building in the world. Throughout its illustrious, and sometimes scandalous, past it has hosted broadcasters and bootleggers alike. The property has recently had a series of renovations including add a prohibition-era speakeasy style bar to the Observatory and a Legends of the Smith Tower exhibit that takes you through the history of the Tower. The Observatory is best known, however, for its open area observation deck that offers stunning 360 degree views of Seattle and the surrounding area. In a city that is changing daily, Seattle's historic sites hold a special place for us. A lesser visted, but spectacular building, sits along the edge of the International District. Built in 1911, Seattle's Union Station is a step back in time. Originally designed to serve passengers on the Union Pacific railroad, the station sat unused for 30 years after passenger service ended. Renovated to its original splendor in 2000, the station serves as the headquarters for Sound Transit. The Great Hall is open for visitors and rentals. Rising from the North Shore of Lake Union, Gasworks park is a Seattle Icon. Opened to the public in 1975, the park design incorporates the remnants of the coal gasification plant that operated on the site until 1956. The main towers serve as an unaccessible relic to a time past while some of the other piping and machinery has been painted and reused as part of the "play barn". On the west side of the park, "the Mound" rises above the park providing an excellent place for flying kites. Atop the Mound, an artistic sundial tracks the seasons. Gasworks is a favorite for picnics, photos and sports. If you have been in nearly any retail store in the last several years you have probably notice the proliferation of Pop Vinyl collectibles. Standing at just under 4 inches tall, Pop Vinyls span nearly every facet of pop culture, sports, music and even politics. We were ,lucky enough to visit their offices when they were in Lynnwood, and we were definitely thrilled when we heard that Funko would be building a massive store of their own in Everett. They did not disappoint. The 10,000 square foot store pays homage to a variety of the titles and themes that are available as Pops. Out of all the available locations there is one that combines them all: Ruby Beach. Sitting south of Forks, the trek to Ruby Beach begins at the edge of old growth forest.
