On the shores of West Seattle sits a relic of the cities past. The Kalakala ferry was a beautiful Art Deco ship, ferrying people between Seattle and Bremerton from 1935 to 1967. After it's ferry days, ship was towed to Alaska to be used as a cannery. In 2004 efforts were started to rescue and preserve the ship from its shrimp processing fate, but the efforts ended after the ship had changed several hands. The Kalakala was scrapped in 2015 with only a few items being saved from the smelter. Now, along the shore near Salty's, portholes from the Kalakala look back on the city it served for many years. . . . . . #amazing #beautiful #nautical #history #photooftheday #cityscape #urban #beauty #rust #classic #seaside #boat #view #artdeco #vintage #amazing #shore #pugetsound #landscape #seattle #trip #travel #explore #photography #adventure #seattlebucketlist #follow #backintime #outdoors #hiking

One of our favorite things about Seattle's food trucks is the variety of cultures represented in the offerings. Off the Rez is a new favorite that introduced us to Native American Frybread in a whole new way - tacos! Made from soft, puffy and somehow crispy frybread stuffed with a variety of ingredients, Off the Rez's Frybread tacos are worth making a trip to wherever they are set up for the day! And if you're not looking for a full meal, try the naked frybread or one of the sweet varieties (the lemon curd is our favorite!) . . . . . #seattle #travel #instafood #yum #delicious #eat #dinner #food #stuffed #hot #beautiful #lunch #love #sharefood #delicious #eating #foodpic #foodpics #hungry #instafood #amazing #instagood #fresh #seattlebucketlist #follow #offtherez #frybread #discover #foodtruck

Seattle is an ever changing city, with neighborhoods that are constantly reinventing themselves. There is one thing, though, that will whisk you back in time: The Monorail. Seattle's Monorail was built for the 1962 World's Fair and has been moving people from the Seattle Center to downtown ever since. And while the route is just under a mile long, for a brief moment, each ride takes you to another era. . . . . . #responsibletravel #seekmoments #monorail #postcardsfromtheworld #transportation #getoutstayout #optoutside #seattlebucketlist #choosemountains #seattle #follow #worldsfair #history #travelquotes #viewfromabove #simpsons #urban #citylife #explore #adventure #wanderlust #adventureseeker #doyoutravel #travelmore #goexplore #wonderfulplaces #lovetotravel #roamtheplanet #seattlecenter

Each Halloween in Seattle, there is a little tear in the fabric of time and space and other worlds peek through. Located in the Wallingford neighborhood, one family goes above and beyond to create an amazing display each year that we have come to call the Halloween House. Ranging from quirky to macabre, the display has been everything from Willy Wonka's factory to the epicenter of the War of the Worlds. So next Halloween venture out and see what dimension you may stumble upon. . . . . . #halloween #spooky #family #popculture #seekmoments #fantasy #postcardsfromtheworld #fiction #design #optoutside #movies #haunted #create #trickortreat #local #found #strangerthings #classic #macabre #follow #seattlebucketlist #ipulledoverforthis #wanderlust #tbt #roamtheplanet #halloweenhouse #wallingford
