The Seattle Bucket List

Thursday, November 30, 2017

It's that time of year again when creative minds gather to create magnificent structures of sugar! Of course that means the annual Gingerbread Houses at the Seattle Sheraton. Last year's theme was Harry Potter and the teams outdid themselves in bringing many of the scenes from books and movies to life (some with a holiday flair) This year the theme is 25 Years of Cheer: A Celebration of Seattle celebrating not only the city, but also the 25th year of Gingerbread Houses at the Sheraton. The Gingerbread Houses are sure to spectacular, so make your plans to visit from now until January 1st. #seattle #travel #holidays #design #art #architecture #urban #gingerbread #winter #anniversary #tradition #city #amazing #beautiful #winter #follow #seattlebucketlist #dessert #sweet #building #holidays #season #harrypotter #slytherin #tbt

The best part about exploring Seattle's farmer's markets and neighborhoods is the many locally owned, small business. The variety of goods and services that are offered is endless. One of our favorites keeps our house and clothes clean and smelling amazing: The Old White House. You can find The Old White House at Pike Place Market with their entire line up of all natural, lavender scented cleaning supplies, laundry detergent, dryer sachets and eye pillows. The scent of lavender permeates all of their products, leaving you relaxed all day. There are so many reasons to wander around Pike Place Market, fresh fish, flower arrangements, local produce, handmade goods and various other sundries, Bu tI never thought that I would add cannolis to the list. Available in the cafe at DeLaurenti Food & Wine, the cannolis are handmade to order with several varieties available. Each cannoli is piped with sweet, creamy filling; covered with a variety of toppings and garnished with a candied orange slice. The perfect mid-stroll treat! #instafood #yum #delicious #eat #food #stuffed #hot #beautiful #love #sharefood #sweet #delicious #eating #foodpic #foodpics #hungry #instafood #amazing #instagood #fresh #seattlebucketlist #follow #dessert #travel #seattle #chocolate #sugar #sweettooth #foodphotography

Towering nearly 1000 feet above the Puget Sound, the Sky View Observatory gives you unrivaled 360 degree views of the Puget Sound region. Located on the 73rd floor of the Columbia Tower, the Observatory has views that stretch from Mt. Rainier to Mt. Baker and everything in between. Daytime trips to the top are beautiful, but, to truly get the most from your visit, plan on a sunset visit and watch the light show! #urban #urbanexploration #urbano #building #buildings #buildinglover #buildingstyles_gf #skyscraper #city #architecture #cities #seattle #travel #observatory #sunset #360view #seattlebucketlist #columbiatower #cityscape #topoftheworld #pugetsound #mountains #view

The Georgetown Liqour Company's Darth Reuben is everything you love in a reuben minus the meat. With a motto of "Strong enough for a carnivore, made for a herbivore", Georgetown Liqour Company lives up to the hype. Complete with a divey decor and retro video games, the GLC serves up a solid vegetarian menu that has become a mecca for PNW vegans and vegetarians. With options including ruebens, gyros, french dips and "tuna" sandwiches, the GLC has all the comfort food you could want. #seattle #travel #food #eats #instafood #yum #delicious #eat #dinner #vegetarian #stuffed #dinner #lunch #love #sharefood #delicious #eating #cocktails #foodpics #hungry #instafood #vegan #instagood #fresh #drinks #bar #seattlebucketlist #follow #georgetownliquorcompany

Tucked away in Pioneer Square, a confectionary mad scientist lurks. Intrigue Chocolate creates unique dark chocolate truffles and truffle bars from fresh, seasonal ingredients. With flavors that change seasonally, (sometimes only appearing once!) Intrigue offers up tantalizing flavor such as Bourbon and Vanilla; Jamaican Hot Chocolate; Basil; and Ghost Chili. All of them are meant to be enjoyed sooner than later, giving you a reason to indulge before you've even left the shop. #seattle #travel #sugar #dessert #desserts #instafood #food #sweet #yummy #yum #foodpics #eat #delicious #eating #hungry #tasty #chocolate #foodstagram #nomnom #sweettooth #ganache #truffles #seattlebucketlist #follow

Today is Free Museum Day! Take the time to explore history and art for free. For instance, visit the museum that has been educating and entertaining visitors for over a century: the Burke Museum. Established in 1885, the Burke is firmly rooted in Seattle and the indigenous peoples that have called the area home. With a collection that explores the region from prehistory through modern day, the Burke will give you an entirely new appreciation of where we call home. #seattle #travel #museum #burkemuseum #history #pnw #pnwexplorations #free #art #dinosaur #fossil #indigenous #seattlebucketlist #uw #pugetsound #wa
